Rick Heydel
I had a 40-year career in sales and marketing in several industries, including the last 25 years in the dive industry. 20 of those years I ran my own scuba shop, first as a home-based business, then as a full service 5-Star PADI dive center. From 2010-2016 I worked as the US marketing director and sales consultant for Fly & Sea Dive Adventures, an industry leader as a dive travel wholesaler. I am currently retired but have continued to teach marketing courses and seminar lectures for Fly & Sea Dive Adventures at DEMA, a role I have played for the past 13 years. I have also lectured for DEMA at the 2022 show.

A diver since 1981, Rick transitioned from a successful career in sales and marketing management for a major international company to the scuba industry in 1990. He built a startup dive shop from scratch to $1 million in sales in 5 years. He led over 120 group dive trips from 1991-2017. He has a unique way of applying sound timeless marketing principles to the scuba industry, especially at the retail dive shop level.
