Rick Heydel
A diver since 1981, Rick had a 40-year career in sales and marketing in several industries, including the last 25 years in the dive industry. For 20 years he ran his own scuba shop, first as a home-based business, then as a full service 5-Star PADI dive center which grew to $1 million in sales in its first 5 years. He led over 120 group dive trips from 1991-2017.
After selling the dive shop, Rick worked as the US marketing director and sales consultant for Fly & Sea Dive Adventures, an industry leader as a dive travel wholesaler. He is currently retired but continues to teach marketing courses and seminar lectures for DEMA and Fly & Sea Dive Adventures, a role he has played for the past 15 years.
Rick has a unique way of applying sound timeless marketing principles to the scuba industry, especially at the retail dive shop level.
