Aron Arngrimsson

Aron started diving in 2005 in an attempt to break away from the rat race. What began as an escape quickly developed into a lifelong passion for technical diving, exploration and discovering some of the world’s most extraordinary underwater environments.

Over the past two decades, Aron has owned and operated several high-profile technical diving operations, contributed to dive publications and training organizations, collaborated with industry-leading manufacturers on product development, and helped shape technical diving training programs.

As the founder of Dirty Dozen Expeditions, Aron has spent the past decade building the company into a leading name in technical diving expeditions. Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Dirty Dozen Expeditions has taken divers to some of the world’s most remote and historically significant dive sites, combining ambitious exploration, challenging technical diving and meticulously planned expeditions.

Aron’s experience also extends into film and television. He has worked on documentaries, commercials and numerous underwater film productions. He is also the co-founder of Dirty Dozen Productions, the sister company dedicated to underwater filmmaking and storytelling.

One of Aron’s personal exploration highlights was the discovery of the USCGC Alexander Hamilton in 2011, resting at 95m/311ft approximately 20 miles off the coast of Reykjavík, Iceland. Following the initial deep exploration dive, Aron and his team worked with the US Coast Guard and the families of the fallen servicemen before returning in 2013 to place a memorial plaque on the wreck, honoring those who lost their lives.

Aron is an active member of The Explorers Club, where he serves as Chapter Chair of the Middle East Chapter, continuing his commitment to exploration, discovery and pushing the boundaries of what lies beneath the surface.
