REEF's mission is to protect biodiversity and ocean life by actively engaging and inspiring the public through citizen science, education, and partnerships with the scientific community. REEF's volunteers have created the world's largest marine life sightings database, led the way in lionfish invasion intervention, and pioneered research on the critically endangered Nassau Grouper. REEF also offers ocean-focused education programs for all ages.
