Come Discover our World

Overview

Ocean Quest is based in Conception Bay South (CBS), Newfoundland, Canada; highlighting the Bell Island WWII shipwrecks and iron ore mines as a dive destination.

Ocean Quest has expanded from it’s beginnings as a small boat tour operator and dive shop to a fully functional PADI dive sales, training, service centre and Outdoor Adventure resort.  With a Wreck-Reation package guest will dive on some of the world’s best preserved WWII wrecks. With five days of diving, you’ll discover the secrets of all four of the famous Bell Island shipwrecks. Intact and upright on the bottom, over 400 ft long, and in virtually the same conditions as the day they were sunk by German U-boats in 1942, these wrecks are sure to have you coming back again.   Early in the season icebergs visit this area from the Arctic and grace us with a ‘bucket list’ dive opportunity.

The Bell Island Mine is an abandoned iron ore mine from which the ore came that was loaded onto the ships that are featured in our Wreck-Reation dives. The mine was worked until the middle of the last century and now most of its several thousand metres of passages are flooded. The possibilities for exploration are limitless for divers.
