    Villa del Sueño means the “Villa of Dreams” and this lovely property was the vision of a Canadian couple from Montreal who loved to cook and make music. Villa del Sueño sits just a few steps from Playa Hermosa beach and is located directly behind Hotel Bosque del Mar. With two pools, one at the main hotel property near the restaurant and bar, and the other in a separate section called El Oasis where the suites are located.  Howler monkeys can be heard and seen around Playa Hermosa, and with only 41 rooms & suites, this property gives a private feel. Many restaurants, a sports bar, and a grocery store are all just a short walk from the hotel, and Daniel Oduber International Airport (LIR) is less than 30 minutes away.     • Enjoy a afternoon sail on the Pacific looking for dolphins, whales, mating turtles, and flying fish, or relax as the sun sets over the Pacific horizon on the afternoon sunset cruise.  After you get underway, you will motor sail past some of the many pristine beaches along the coast.  Snorkel, relax or try your luck by casting a line.

    What to expect:

    Once at the meeting point at the beach you will board skiffs that take you to the Catamaran and once onboard you will be given a short safety briefing. After you are underway, you will sail along enjoying the gentle breezes.  Snorkeling equipment is provided and guests are given an hour or so to swim among the rocky reefs looking for colorful fish and rays.

    While you are enjoying the sights, the crew prepares a light lunch that includes items like BBQ chicken or pasta salad, fresh fruit plates, chips (Doritos, Cheetos, Tostitos, and Ruffles), dips (fresh homemade guacamole and pico de gallo salsa) and even some fresh baked cookies!

    An open bar is offered during the duration of the tour.

    You will be picked up by a naturalist, English-speaking guide in a private vehicle at your Guanacaste Beach hotel* for a day of pure Costa Rican natural wonders. After an easy drive that takes you along the outskirts of Liberia, the capital city of Guanacaste, you will be greeted by rolling hills and wide-open spaces.

    Stop along the way to relax, stretch and enjoy a delicious, typical “Tico” lunch, served hot with a refreshing fruit drink.

    This tour will leave you smiling from ear to ear. This is great fun and will get your adrenaline pumping as you enjoy the beauty of the forest and look for wildlife....

    • This easy, yet exhilarating and exciting experience has you zipping through the tree tops. If you’re lucky, the Howler Monkeys will come out and see you zip by at some point during the tour. Guides will accompany young children in tandem, and if necessary go with an adult who needs hand-holding. Age and weight are generally not a factor.

    What to Expect

    After you arrive, experienced canyoning guides will help outfit you in the gear you will need and give you a safety briefing, showing you how to position your hands and gloves and how to brake when needed.

    Within 15 minutes after gearing up, you will be zipping from treetop to treetop across the cables between the 11 platforms. Safety lines secure you to the platforms along the way. Guides do a lot to ensure that guests have maximum enjoyment – especially on the longer, lower height lines that prepare you for the later, higher platforms.  By the time you get to the last platform, you will feel like a pro.

    At the end of the day, visit the gift shop and purchase souvenirs, an ice cream bar, or an ice-cold soda or beer.

    The beautiful Tenorio River provides a pristine and gorgeous backdrop for this adrenaline-packed rafting tour. The wild ride down the narrow Tenorio River in four-man rafts is filled with excitement....

    • Monkeys and birds can be seen between runs through the thrilling white-water rapid. A walk-around is provided for rafters who don’t want to try the big drop!

    What to expect:

    Begin your day with a stop at the edge of the Corobici River where you will meet your rafting guides. Then you will hop in vehicles for your trek across the plains to the river put-in point. Once you arrive, you and the guides will carry the gear down to the river’s bank where you will gear up and practice rafting skills your guide will teach you so you will understand his commands and know when to paddle and which direction, and when to rest – and, of course, how to high-five your fellow rafters with your paddle!

    You will take a short break mid-way down the river to enjoy some fresh pineapple and a cool drink of water before getting back to the fun.  After you finish the tour, you will help your guides haul the paddles and life vests up to the awaiting vehicles ready to take you back to the restaurant overlooking the Corobici River.

    Change into dry clothing before sitting down to a relaxing and delicious typical, hot meal. Enjoy the sights and of the bubbling water of the Rio Corobici. Lunch includes a fruit beverage, but alcoholic beverages are available for purchase.  Stop by the gift shop if you like before heading back to your hotel.

    What to Expect

    Begin your day with some horseback riding in the morning as you explore and enjoy the view of Rincón de la Vieja Volcano lowlands. Your ride will be followed with zip-line canopy tour through the dry forest with 9 lines and 14 platforms crossing the Colorado Canyon, plus expert guides help you to rappel and rock climb up the canyon wall.  All of this takes place above spectacular views of the breath-taking canyon which has been carved over the years by the waters of the Colorado River.

    You will enjoy a hot lunch before embarking on a challenging tubing trip on the Rio Colorado, and at the end you can relax with warm, volcanic mud and enjoy a soak in therapeutic hot pools! After you rinse off, you can change into your dry clothing before returning to your Beach Hotel.
