Join us in our mission to restore Costa Rica's reefs.

In Costa Rica, we have one of the highest biodiversities both on the land and in the water. Our oceans are important to our way of life and protecting them is our duty.

We are a non-profit organization based in Quepos, on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica. We are dedicated to working towards a better ocean thtough education and action. We offer Reef Restoration Courses, Coral Internships & Marine Educational Courses. Our flagship project is a coral restoration project and nursery which is based in the Manuel Antonio National Park. We are currently restoring 3 species of Pacific hard corals. We also work on Marine education projects, outreach programs in our local community and collaborate on whale and turtle research projects.

We have a volunteer and internship program for our coral restoration project and offer opportunities for individuals to conduct their own reserach programs. We also offer professional level dive training in our marine conservation programs in partnership with a local dive training facility.

  • Marine Conservation Costa rica is proud to announce a new CORAL REEF RESEARCH SPECIALTY CERTIFICATION

Marine conservation Costa Rica is a non-profit based in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica. They work primarily in restoring and researching the coral reefs along the pacific coast. As part of this they are working with the government organization SINAC to research the health of coral reefs around Costa Rica.

This program has been designed specifically to explore and implement these research techniques on our reefs here in Costa Rica. During this course you will learn about coral reef systems and their importance, and why we need to study coral reef systems. We will learn what is reef monitoring and understand what factors should be considered when setting up a monitoring/research project.
